This app is a beautiful and elegant way to organize and listen to your podcasts. The app also contains powerful and convenient tools to help make your podcasting the best experience it can be. **Update** Now that this app as gone free theres no excuse not to at least try it. Its the best looking podcast client on iOS, now it has 3D Touch, and its free. I switched from Overcast and Im not looking back.

In most every way Castro is the podcast app that Apple should have made. It has a very clean look, and the user interface makes it intuitive and easy to use. Plus, it streams, which is quite handy when I dont feel like waiting to download. The only thing lacking is podcast discovery. The search function works great but theres no list of the top podcasts, another one with newer, trending podcasts, or a list of podcasts sorted by category, by network etc. Whenever I want these things I just open Apples iOS podcasts app but Id like to be able to just use Castro.

I cant listen to any episode for more than a couple minutes before the app crashes. This was my go-to podcast app. Will rerate once its fixed.

Overall I like the experience the search is awesome but would like to get some recommendations for discovery purposes and iWatch support please!

Easy to use with just the right amount of features. Im very glad I found this.

Sound stops when waze is the foreground app. Apples podcast app does not have this problem.

Castro is now my #1 podcasts app after the native Apple app became so horrible.

Ive opened it three times on my 6 Plus, and it crashes as soon as I start trying to add podcasts. Ill try it again later, hopefully theyll fix it.

This is a paid app that asks for a subscription now. It has a patron message on your podcast list. This makes it seem like an ad. This needs to be placed in the settings menu. If this was a free app this would be okay but it is a paid app. I hate apps asking for more money all the time. Player works fine. Look is nice. Touch areas are a bit small, impossible to use while running. Save your money and look elsewhere.

Opening the podcasts app after leaving it idle often doesnt allow you to back out of the episode and go back to your queue. You have to force quit the app first. Never happened pre-1.5.

Ive tried most of the podcast apps on the App Store and Castro is the best at combining simplicity with a great set of features.

Ive been using pocketcast for years. Decided to try Castro bc its completely free now!? Anyways the interface is next level, i love it. Its super smooth and slick. Its pretty functional. I think podcasts geeks may say it doesnt have enough features or something it seems to have all the basics and more. The patreon ask is like bo big deal and not really noticeable or bothersome

I bought nearly every major podcasts app in the App Store. This one is the one i keep using! Its Gestures and beautiful UI are so awesome. Looking forward to castro 2.0!

Castro is the best looking of any podcast app. It might not be as full featured (hopefully Castro 2 includes a smart-speed like feature) but its smooth and beautiful, and it works great.

But this app is so good that it deserves a good review from eveeryone who downloads it. It looks great, its easy to use and has great features. Without a doubt one of the best apps Ive ever downloaded and way better than the podcast app that comes with the ipod 6 (you used to be able to delete it but now its there for better or worse permanently.

Haven’t tried all the podcast apps, but this one is dope. Love the settings too. They made some UI choices that might confuse some users, but I like it a hell-a-lot. It took me a while to warm up to the episodes tab, but I really like that section a lot now.

Awesome podcast client. You can tell the developers spend a lot of time and love this app. Very much looking forward to the big v2.0 update that is forthcoming with Apple Watch support!

Love this podcast app and I would love to see an Apple TV version added to listen at home and sync playback with my iPhone.

This is one beautiful app. The gestures intuitive, search is swift, and the general listening experience is pleasant. However, it doesnt seem to download podcasts in the background like its competitors do (overcast, for example). Even with the appropriate settings fiddled with, notifications for new episodes are often late, or nonexistent altogether, until you launch the app. It would also be great if there was a feature to enable rearrangement of downloaded episodes, in addition to the default date-sorted. All in all, its a great app!

This is the best podcast app I have ever used. Great functionality and easy to use interface.
